Civil Engineering

Civil engineering is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including works like bridges, roads, canals, dams, and buildings. It is traditionally broken into several sub-disciplines including environmental engineering, geo-technical engineering, structural engineering, transportation engineering, municipal or urban engineering, water resources engineering, materials engineering, coastal engineering, surveying, and construction engineering. Civil engineering takes place on all levels: in the public sector from municipal through to national governments, and in the private sector from individual homeowners through to international companies.

The department is equipped with the following state-of-the-art labs:

• Concrete and Road Materials Laboratory
• Geology Laboratory
• Hydraulics Laboratory
• Soil Mechanics Laboratory
• Structural Engineering Laboratory
• Surveying laboratory

Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical engineering is a discipline of engineering that applies the principles of physics and materials science for analysis, design, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems. It is the branch of engineering that involves the production and usage of heat and mechanical power for the design, production, and operation of machines and tools. It is one of the oldest and broadest engineering disciplines.

The engineering field requires an understanding of core concepts including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science, and structural analysis. Mechanical engineers use these core principles along with tools like computer-aided engineering and product lifecycle management to design and analyze manufacturing plants, industrial equipment and machinery, heating and cooling systems, transport systems, aircraft, watercraft, robotics, medical devices and more.

Computer Science Engineering

Computer engineering is the study of the theoretical foundations of information and computation and of practical techniques for their implementation and application in computer systems. Computer scientists invent algorithmic processes that create, describe, and transform information and formulate suitable abstractions to model complex systems.

Technological developments have qualitatively enhanced our lives and the role of computers is the most effective and widely appreciated benefit of modern age. Globalization and knitting the world together could have never been imagined without the very existence of computer and internet facility. The department of Computer Science and Engineering is imparting education and preparing its students for real world challenges. Emphasis is laid on Microprocessor, DBMS, Computer Network Complier construction, Distributed System, Computer Graphics and Animation etc. Equal weightage is given to the teaching of courses related to hardware and software.
